Skillful Window Installation and Replacements in Minneapolis
Windows are essential to any home, but most homeowners don’t know that choosing the right type of window can completely transform the look and feel of a room. The perfect windows can make a huge difference in how your space functions. Not only do they let in all the sought-after natural light, but they also allow for much-needed fresh air and a beautiful view of the great outdoors.
Whether you’re looking to revamp your existing windows, or in the process of building a brand new home, our team at Four Point Construction really knows their stuff. With our help, we’re ready to help you make informed sections when picking out the perfect windows for your home.
Why Choosing the Right Windows is Important
Windows are an essential part of a home’s architecture and play a crucial role in its aesthetics, energy efficiency, and overall functionality. They provide natural light and ventilation, improving indoor air quality and creating a more comfortable living environment. Windows also offer a view of the outside world and can enhance a home’s beauty and curb appeal.
Windows are the transparent openings in the walls that allow natural light and air to enter the living space. Windows can be made of various materials like wood, vinyl, aluminum, or fiberglass and can come in different styles, shapes, and sizes.
In addition to their aesthetic and functional benefits, windows also serve as an essential insulation source, helping regulate the temperature inside the home and reduce energy costs. Properly installed and insulated windows can help prevent heat loss during the winter and heat gain during the summer, reducing the need for heating and cooling systems and improving the home’s overall energy efficiency.
Types of Windows We Install
At Four Point Construction, we specialize in replacing windows with significant wear and tear or damage by a storm. Here are the types of window materials we offer:
Vinyl
Vinyl windows are affordable, energy-efficient, and low-maintenance. They are available in various colors and styles, making them a popular choice for homeowners.
Wood
Wood windows offer a classic, timeless look and are known for their natural beauty. They are energy-efficient but require more maintenance than vinyl or fiberglass.
Fiberglass
Fiberglass windows are strong, durable, and energy-efficient. They are also low-maintenance and available in a range of colors and styles.
Aluminum
Aluminum windows are strong, lightweight, and resistant to corrosion. They are less energy-efficient than other materials but offer excellent durability and require little maintenance.
Composite
Composite windows combine the best features of wood and vinyl, offering the natural beauty of wood with the low-maintenance benefits of vinyl. They are energy-efficient, durable, and available in a range of colors and styles.
Window Replacement FAQs
What should I consider before installing windows?
Installing new windows in a home can enhance its energy efficiency, aesthetic appeal, and overall functionality. However, before embarking on a window installation project, homeowners should consider several factors to ensure they choose the right windows for their needs before installing them. Here’s why:
- Location: The location of the window can affect its performance and functionality. For example, windows in high-traffic areas may require stronger glass to prevent breakage. In contrast, windows in rooms with high humidity, such as bathrooms and kitchens, may require ventilation to prevent moisture buildup.
- Room: The room in which the window is installed can also affect its functionality. For instance, bedrooms may require windows that provide privacy and noise insulation, while living areas may require windows that provide natural light and a clear view of the outside.
- Direction: The direction of the window can affect the amount of sunlight and heat that enters the room. North-facing windows receive less direct sunlight and are better suited for rooms that require less natural light, while south-facing windows receive more direct sunlight and are better suited for rooms that require more natural light and warmth.
Considering the window’s location, room, and direction can help homeowners choose the right type of window and maximize its functionality and performance.
How long do windows typically last?
What is the best window material in Minneapolis?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to the best window material, as the ideal material varies based on the homeowner’s needs, preferences, and budget. However, fiberglass windows are a very popular option among homeowners.
Fiberglass windows are incredibly strong and durable, with a lifespan of up to 50 years. They are resistant to warping, cracking, and rotting, making them an excellent choice for areas with extreme weather conditions. Also, fiberglass is an excellent insulator, helping to keep your home cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Fiberglass windows provide high levels of thermal insulation, reducing energy consumption and lowering energy bills.

I had a very positive experience working with Four Point Construction on my new roof. Neil was great to work with. We had some weather surprises and a few repairs needed under the old roof. They kept me informed about what was going … More on and the plan to continue work so it could be done in a timely manner. The final product looks great and very high quality.

The professionalism of Four Point Construction was unmatched. Every step of the process from beginning to end was smooth. This was my first time having to repair storm damage and Four Point Construction easily explained each step of the … More process. They were timely with their responses and work. They are thoughtful of your family, including pets. They timed their work to accommodate my family's needs. They kept the area well cleaned of debris to ensure the safety of my dogs. I'm hoping I'll get many years with my new roof before needing work on it again, but if I do need work done again, I know my first call will be to Four Point Construction.

Andrew Clark supported us with a roof and siding at a previous home. He was incredibly helpful, timely, and transparent. He was honest and we never felt like we were being “pressured” into anything. He even advocated for us with an insurance … More company to help get coverage. Mr. Clark was so great we even reached out to him to have him support us with gutters on a new build home we recently moved into. Again, great service! I highly recommend him!!

I think, WOW sums up this company’s level of experience, professionalism, and general awesomeness! I live in Maplewood, MN and like most people, my home was hit hard last year with large hail. I called up Four Point Construction to see … More if they would be willing to assess the damage done and what my options would be. Neil, one of the owners, came out quickly to asses the damage, along with the insurance inspector. The damage was definitely significant enough to replace my roof, shed roof, and garage roof.
Neil was simply amazing in explaining my options for roof replacement, what would look great on my home, and how he would work with my insurance company to get the best savings available. The work was done in a timely manner and all in the same day! The crew worked quickly, efficiently, and cleaned up all of the their trash. I had nothing to worry about.
Neil also takes the time to oversee each project and keep the teams on track. When the work was finished, he personally came out again to tell me what they did, any issues they had to fix, and make sure I was satisfied with the job.
I highly recommend Neil and his team for all your roofing needs. You won’t be disappointed! -

Mike Miller handled the damage to our roof from a hail storm in May 2022. I also had solar panels mounted on my roof in 2019. He had to coordinate the removal and reinstallation of the solar panels and the re-roofing of the house. He … More handled everything and was very professional in dealing with the insurance company and solar contractor even though they were slow in their response. I would recommend Mike for this type of work in the future.
